WJ V’s built-in Audio Capture feature gives assessors an extra layer of scoring confidence. When switched on, it allows you to flag responses during the session and revisit them during review, so you can double-check your scoring with clarity.

If you’re unsure in the moment, simply flag the item and listen back before finalising your decisions. Once the test session is submitted for scoring, all audio is permanently deleted—keeping the process secure, private, and focused entirely on professional accuracy.

While the WJ V ACH is delivered entirely online, a small number of tests still require a printed Response Booklet for handwritten input. These include Calculation, Math Facts Fluency, Written Language Samples, Sentence Writing Accuracy, Spelling, Sentence Writing Fluency, Spelling of Sounds, and Letter Writing Fluency. To keep things flexible, you can either download the specific Response Booklet pages directly from the Riverside Score® platform at no cost, or order pre-printed booklets in packs of 25.

When logged into WJ V through the Riverside Score® platform, you have full flexibility to customise your test sets for each examinee. Depending on your purchase and qualification level, you can select only the tests you need to answer specific referral questions quickly, efficiently, and with precision. You’ll also find ready-made, pre-loaded test sets for commonly used assessments, including the Standard Achievement tests, Standard Cognitive tests, and Dyslexia-focused batteries, making it easy to get started right away or streamline your workflow over time.

WJ V takes the pressure off examiners by automatically applying basal and ceiling rules during testing. The system intelligently re-routes in real time to ensure the correct starting and stopping points are met, so you stay on track without second guessing. Visual indicators show your progress toward basal and ceiling levels as you go, giving you full control and confidence throughout the assessment process.

Navigating through a WJ V assessment is designed to be seamless. As the examiner, you’ll see correct and incorrect answers clearly flagged in real time, so making quick, accurate scoring selections is effortless. For some tests, scoring is even handled automatically based on the examinee’s response.

You stay fully in control: if a score needs adjusting, you can make changes with a click. And once each test is complete, you’ll immediately see age and grade equivalents, helping you decide what to assess next, based on real insight, not guesswork.

Some WJ V tests that once required intense multitasking—like Concept Formation and Analysis Synthesis, now come with built-in video instructions. That means no more flipping back and forth, managing easel pages, or mentally juggling scripts mid-assessment.
