Standardisation & Norming

SWIFT’s five subtests were standardised on a representative sample of over 2400 students across the UK and Ireland.

Norms were stratified by age bands. The standardisation process aligns with established psychometric practices to ensure comparability across student groups.

Validity & Reliability

SWIFT’s psychometric strength is built on rigorous evidence of both validity and reliability. Validity studies demonstrate strong construct and concurrent validity with high correlations reported between SWIFT and other gold standard psychometric tools such as the WISC‑V and Woodcock-Johnson IV (0.7-0.9).

Reliability analyses reveal high internal consistency (Cronbach’s 0.8 – 0.9 for all subtests) and strong test–retest stability (r ≥82 across alternate forms), ensuring score precision and consistency over time.

The low standard error of measurement supports narrow confidence intervals, giving educators confidence in using scores for high‑stakes decisions.
